The Nagarothana scheme is an important project by the Karnataka government aimed at improving urban infrastructure across the state. Here are some details about the scheme:

Launch and Phases: The scheme was first announced in 2016-17 and has been implemented in several phases. For example, the third phase was launched with a budget of Rs 2,890 crore.
Funding and Allocation: The scheme’s funding comes from a combination of government grants and loans from the Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC). Typically, the funds are split equally between grants and loans.
Scope of Work: Projects under this scheme include developing roads, drainage systems, lakes, parks, school buildings, and primary health centers. For instance, the rebranded Amruta Nagarothana scheme involves improving 2,146 km of roads, 67 lakes, and creating 11 new parks.
Recent Developments: In 2021, a special package of Rs 6,000 crore was announced under the Amruta Nagarothana scheme for Bengaluru, focusing on enhancing urban infrastructure.

The Nagarothana scheme aims to improve the quality of life in urban areas by addressing key infrastructure needs. With the opening of Palike Bazaar, Bengaluru will have a new and exciting place to shop and explore, thanks to these ongoing efforts to enhance the city’s infrastructure.
